There’s a small window in the mountains that few ever see.
After the last of the tourists head home and before the first heavy snow, the towns exhale. Storefronts go dark. Locals start fixing what summer wore out. The streets feel slower, quieter — like the whole place is catching its breath before winter.

They call it shoulder season.
And every year, it feels a little shorter.
